Measure a Watch Strap How-To



Measuring your watch strap correctly is important if you want to make sure that you buy the right size watch strap. To do this, you will obviously need a ruler, with millimetre divisions. There is a handy little ruler on the side of this spring-bar removal tool.

You do not necessarily need to to take the watch strap off the watch to measure its size. The distance that you need to measure is the distance between the shoulders of the watch case, as shown in this image below:

Usually, the measurement will be an even number of millimetres, but occasionally watches have an odd measurement. In this case, you need to decide whether you will buy a slightly-too-large watch strap and hope that it fits in, or a slightly-too-small watch strap and hope that it isn't too loose.

When you have measured your watch strap, you can go ahead a buy a new watch strap to fit to your watch.
